Youths of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Lagos State have reaffirmed their readiness to play an active role in the build-up to the 2027 general elections, following a strategic engagement with party stakeholders.
Speaking after a meeting with young members of the party in Lagos, party leaders described youths as critical stakeholders in nation-building whose importance goes beyond their numerical strength.
According to the statement, young Nigerians continue to contribute significantly to political development, economic growth, innovation and community advancement, making their participation essential to the future of the country.
The meeting provided an opportunity for party leaders and youths to hold what was described as a frank and productive discussion on the political direction of the party, grassroots mobilisation and preparations ahead of the 2027 elections.
The youths were commended for their contributions, ideas and willingness to participate actively in expanding the party's support base across Lagos State.
Following the engagement, confidence was expressed that the APM youth structure in Lagos is prepared to intensify grassroots mobilisation and voter engagement ahead of the elections.
The party is seeking to rally support for Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde in the 2027 presidential race, while also backing Laja Adeoye's bid for Governor of Lagos State.
The engagement is expected to form part of broader efforts to strengthen the party's grassroots structures and increase youth participation in political activities across communities in Lagos.
Party stakeholders maintained that young people will remain central to the mobilisation strategy as political activities ahead of 2027 continue to gather momentum.
