LAJA ADEOYE FOUNDATION (LAF)
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE LAJA ADEOYE FOUNDATION
The Laja Adeoye Foundation (LAF) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and charitable organization established under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Incorporated Trustees under Part F of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 2020).
The Foundation is dedicated to the advancement of education, healthcare, social welfare, community empowerment, and the promotion of good governance and democratic values for the benefit of the public, particularly the less privileged, youth, women, and vulnerable groups in Lagos State and Nigeria at large.
The specific aims and objectives for which the Foundation is established are as follows:
OUR MISSION
The Prince Laja Adeoye Foundation creates lasting positive change in the lives of Lagosians through strategic programs and community partnerships.
Empowerment and Capacity Building
To empower individuals and communities, especially youth, women, and marginalized groups, through skills acquisition programmes, entrepreneurship development, vocational training, leadership development, and provision of start-up support and resources to promote self-reliance and economic independence.
Political Participation and Civic Engagement
To support, promote, sponsor active political participation, democratic values, and good governance by organizing voter education, civic awareness campaigns, leadership training, and initiatives that encourage transparent, accountable, and inclusive political processes. This includes fostering youth and women involvement in governance and advocating for equitable political representation.
Education
To advance education by providing scholarships, bursaries, educational infrastructure, literacy programmes, vocational and digital skills training, and support for research and educational development, with a focus on underserved communities.
Healthcare
To improve access to quality healthcare services through medical outreach programmes, support for health facilities, health education and awareness campaigns, provision of medical assistance to the indigent, and initiatives aimed at reducing maternal and child mortality as well as combating preventable diseases.
Social Services and Community Development
To provide comprehensive social services including poverty alleviation, humanitarian relief, support for orphans, widows, the elderly and persons with disabilities, community development projects, environmental sustainability initiatives, and access to basic resources such as clean water, sanitation, and housing support.
Support for Democratic and Social Justice Initiatives
To support and fund lawful initiatives, advocacy, and programmes that advance democratic struggles, social justice, human rights, political inclusion, and accountable leadership, including partnerships that promote good governance and the fight against corruption and inequality, while operating strictly within the bounds of the law and the charitable objects of the Foundation.
Resource Mobilization and Sustainability
To receive, manage, and disburse donations, grants, endowments, crowdfunding contributions, gifts, legacies, and other forms of voluntary support from individuals, corporations, governments, international organizations, and philanthropists for the furtherance of the above objectives. The Foundation shall also have the power to raise funds through lawful means, invest its funds prudently, and apply all income and property solely towards the promotion of its charitable objects.
General Powers
General Powers: To collaborate with other charitable organizations, government agencies, and stakeholders; to acquire, hold, and manage property (movable and immovable) for the attainment of its objects; and to do all such other lawful acts, deeds, and things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the foregoing aims and objectives or any of them.
