Fixing the Third Mainland Bridge: Adelaja Adeoye's Call for Safer Roads

Fixing the Third Mainland Bridge: Adelaja Adeoye's Call for Safer Roads

Prince Adelaja Adeoye has just been honored at the 2024 City People Real Estate Awards for his outstanding leadership and transformative impact in Nigeria’s real estate industry.

Prince Adelaja Adeoye, the former National Publicity Secretary of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), recently made a significant appeal to Babatunde Raji Fashola, the Minister for Works and former governor of Lagos State, regarding the state of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos. This bridge, a crucial link in Lagos's infrastructure, has been a topic of concern due to its deteriorating condition.

Adelaja, in a press briefing held in Lagos on Monday, emphasized the urgent need for maintenance on the bridge. He highlighted that while the Federal Government's recent efforts have focused on enhancing the structural integrity of the bridge, more comprehensive measures are required. Specifically, he advocated for the resurfacing of the bridge to address the numerous potholes and openings that pose safety risks to commuters.

On his official Twitter handle, @AdelajaAdeoye, Adelaja directly addressed the issue, urging Minister Fashola to prioritize the resurfacing efforts. He stressed the importance of preventing accidents and ensuring the long-term durability of the bridge through thorough repair work.

The closure of the Third Mainland Bridge for maintenance work, though necessary, has raised concerns among commuters who have not witnessed significant improvements upon its reopening. Adelaja acknowledged the technical nature of the repairs but argued that more visible and effective outcomes should have been achieved during the closure period.

While acknowledging Minister Fashola's broader infrastructural achievements, Adelaja pointed out the need for accelerated progress on other critical projects, such as the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. He highlighted the economic importance of these highways and called for additional security measures, including embankments and surveillance cameras, to address growing security threats along these routes.

Adelaja also commended Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for his stance on cryptocurrency regulations, advocating for informed and fair policies that harness the benefits of blockchain technology while mitigating its risks.

In conclusion, Adelaja emphasized the importance of proactive and strategic infrastructure management, urging policymakers to adopt forward-thinking approaches that prioritize safety, efficiency, and economic growth.
