My Vision for a Better Lagos
As I stand amongst the aspirants vying for the esteemed position of Governor of Lagos State, I feel an immense sense of responsibility to my people and to our great city. My roots are deep in this vibrant land; I belong to two out of the five Ibile Divisions of Lagos, and my identity is intertwined with the struggles and triumphs of our communities. I am not just a candidate; I am a son of this soil, passionate about bringing transformative change to Lagos.
Specific Plans for Our Communities
My government will prioritize the following key areas to ensure that every resident of Lagos thrives:
- Infrastructure Development: I will create a comprehensive plan to upgrade our roads, particularly in areas like Ikorodu, Agbado Oke-Odo, and Epe. We will focus on dual carriageways and improved public transport systems to ease congestion and improve accessibility.
- Healthcare for All: I promise to establish a network of primary healthcare facilities in underserved areas like Badagry and Alimosho. By partnering with local healthcare providers, we will ensure that quality medical services are available to every Lagosian.
- Education Reform: As your next governor, I will invest in our schools, especially in Ikotun and Ifako-Ijaiye. This includes building new classrooms, hiring qualified teachers, and integrating technology into the curriculum to prepare our children for the future.
- Job Creation: I will launch initiatives to support local businesses in areas like Surulere and Mushin, providing them with the resources and training needed to thrive. This will boost employment and empower our youth.
- Waste Management and Environmental Protection: I will implement a robust waste management system, starting with communities in Victoria Island and Lekki. Together, we will promote recycling and create green spaces to enhance the beauty of our state.
Timeline for Change
My vision for Lagos is ambitious yet achievable. I will set a clear timeline for each initiative:
- Infrastructure Development: First 12 months – Assessment and design.
- Healthcare Facilities: By the end of year two – Open 10 new health centers.
- Education Reform: Year three – Complete school renovations and technology integration.
- Job Creation Initiatives: Year one – Launch training programs for local businesses.
- Waste Management System: Year two – Implement recycling programs statewide.
