My Motive for Running Is to Negotiate a Better Deal for My People

As a son of Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II, I understand the struggles of our people—because I live them too. I’m not just another politician; I’m part of the community. That’s why I’ve stepped forward to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives. My goal is simple: to negotiate a better deal for my people.

I Know the Problems Because I Live Among the People

I’m not coming in from the outside. I’ve lived in this constituency, shared in its challenges, and worked in political roles at both the state and national levels. That experience has shown me what needs to be done—and how to do it right.

Our slogan, “A Better Deal,” is not just for campaign posters. It’s a promise. I want to push for laws and attract development that improves lives. We need real solutions in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and employment. That’s what I’ll fight for in the National Assembly.

Nigeria's Economy Needs Fixing—Here’s My Plan

The economy is tough right now. Inflation is high. Businesses are shutting down. Investors are leaving. I believe this is happening because of leadership failure.

As a PDP candidate, I believe we can change that. With the right leadership, our country can be stable again. If elected, I will push for policies that:

  • Support industries with better access to foreign exchange
  • Provide incentives to import machinery and boost local production
  • Tackle the root causes of inflation and high unemployment
  • Improve power supply so businesses can survive here, not run to neighboring countries

Housing Is a Right, Not a Luxury

One of the biggest problems in Lagos is the lack of affordable housing. I know this issue well, even as a stakeholder in the real estate sector. The problems are clear:

  • Land acquisition is difficult
  • Building materials are too expensive

To solve this, I will work on laws that:

  • Make land easier to access, especially for government housing projects
  • Encourage the government to partner with cement and iron producers to reduce costs
  • Revive key national assets like Ajaokuta Steel to produce materials locally
  • Make homeownership realistic for both low- and middle-income earners

Women, Youth, and Elders Are at the Heart of My Plans

My support base includes many women and young people—and I don’t take that lightly. I treat women with deep respect and see them as pillars of society. I have solid plans to empower them:

  • For women: We’ll support traders with funds and training so they can expand their businesses, not just give handouts
  • For youth: We’ll train them based on their interests and give them seed capital, so they don’t end up jobless or on the streets
  • For elders: We’ll offer monthly stipends to help with medical and basic needs. Our old ones must not be forgotten

This isn’t about noise. It’s about real programs, with follow-up and impact.

Security Must Start with Welfare and Prevention

Security in Nigeria is a big issue, and it goes beyond police presence. I believe if we don’t take care of our security officers—police, army, and others—they won’t be motivated to protect us. That’s why I want to work on:

  • Better welfare for security agencies
  • Regular training and intelligence gathering
  • Early warning systems to stop violence before it starts

I want a country where peace is maintained not just by guns, but by smart planning and care for our people.

My Final Word

I’m not running because I want a title. I’m running because I care. I’ve seen the failures, the hardship, and the lost hopes. I believe we can fix these problems—but only if we elect people who truly represent the people.

A better deal isn’t just a dream—it’s a plan. And I’m ready to bring it home to Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II.
